General questions about our services
How do licenses work?
The main difference between our licenses is the number and types of projects that you can build with our templates. If you're building a single project, the Starter or the Developer license is for you. However, if you are a professional developer or even an agency, you should consider purchasing an Business license, which will let you build unlimited projects with the same license, saving up a lot on your purchase.
What about licensing and SaaS projects?
Unlike other platforms, we allow you to build SaaS products under certain conditions. With a Starter license, you cannot build a SaaS product. With a Developer license, you can only build a single-tenant SaaS product. With an Business license, you can build multiple single-tenant SaaS products or a single multi-tenant SaaS product.
What about theme customization?
Theme customization is not part of our regular services and therefore not included in a product purchase. If you need customization services, feel free to reach us and make sure to send us your requirements so we can issue a quote for you or your company.
What about the support scope?
Our support policy is very clear. We only support what is directly related to the template UI. Anything else remains optional. We do not support 3rd party plugins as well though we can provide some guidance on how to use them best, but not on how to implement them or fix your own implementation.
Can I sign up for dedicated services?
Yes, you can ask for additional services like design, development, consulting or anything you'd feel relevant for your project. Visit our services pages and select what you need. We'll get back at you in no time.
Can I be refunded if I need to?
If the product doesn't suit your needs you can always ask us to get a refund under 14 days after product purchase. After, that delay you won't be eligible for a refund anymore. Refund requests must be motivated and have a valid and reasonnable reason to be approved. For more details, please take a look at our refund policy.
Developers
Specific questions for developers
What about GitHub access?
We have 3 licenses, Starter, Developer and Business. Github access for our products is only provided when you purchase a Developer or an Business license for a given product. Please also note that product bundles are sold under the Starter license and therefore cannot be eligible to GitHub access.
What are your frontend tech stacks?
For frontend development, we work with different technical stacks for our products. The easiest one is the regular HTML with CSS/JS for website and admin templates. We dropped jQuery support quite some time ago and replaced it with Alpine.js in our newer HTML templates. We also are Vue.js 3 heavy users, and we got even deeper with the release of Nuxt 3. In the future, we will also be introducing React/Next based frontend templates.
How are product updates handled?
At Css Ninja, we have an internal system to manage products and updates. We specifically document minor and beaking changes so you have all the required tools to update your project. With Github access (requires at least a Developer license), you can also take a close look at the changelog and the releases for a given product you've bought. Each time this product is updated, you'll be automatically notified on your email inbox.
Can I vote or ask for new features?
We love your feedback, and that's exactly what we need to make our products closer to your level of expectations. We plan to build a voting system that will centralize your feedback about our products, but it is not ready yet. Until then, feel free to contact us to suggest new features or open issues explaining what you'd like to see on the relevant Github repo, if you have access.
Can I use your products for Open Source projects?
Without an explicit authorization from us, you can't. That would be considered as a Terms Of Service violation and would be assimilated to piracy. However, if you ask us about it, we'll process your request and take all available info in consideration before we can allow you to use a product in such way. Please also note that it is as well forbidden to publish one of our products on public Github (or any Git provider) repositories.
Can I upgrade or downgrade a product license?
This is not possible. Licenses are issued once, when the related product is purchased. Therefore, we cannot change that. You will need to buy a new license for the desired product.
